The Information and Communications Technology Council (ICTC), a national center of expertise in Canada, aimed to leverage technology to drive economic growth and innovation while ensuring the competitiveness of Canada’s workforce on a global scale. In pursuit of these goals, ICTC organized a virtual career fair using vFairs, a user-friendly and feature-rich virtual event platform.
The event aimed to grow professional networks, showcase job openings, and increase employment opportunities for newcomers.

ICTC faced several challenges in organizing the virtual career fair:
One challenge was to facilitate connections between employers and pre-arrival internationally educated professionals (IEPs) who were seeking employment in Canada’s ICT sector.
Another challenge involved building a network of professionals overseas who were interested in working in Canada’s ICT industry.
ICTC also wanted to highlight the advantages of working for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in the technology sector.
ICTC chose to partner with vFairs for their virtual career fair. vFairs provided comprehensive support to ICTC throughout the planning and execution stages of the event, ensuring a smooth and successful experience.
The vFairs platform offered the capability to host webinars, allowing ICTC to deliver informative sessions on various topics related to the ICT industry, job search strategies, and professional development.
Exhibitors, including employers and SMEs, were provided with personalized virtual booths where they could showcase their organizations, job openings, and engage with attendees in real-time.
vFairs offered a user-friendly and intuitive platform that was easily accessible to both exhibitors and attendees. This ensured a seamless experience for all participants and facilitated effective networking and engagement.
The virtual career fair organized by ICTC using vFairs proved to be a resounding success. It effectively addressed the challenges of connecting employers with pre-arrival IEPs, developing a network from overseas, and promoting the benefits of SMEs in the technology sector.
The event facilitated networking, job exploration, and knowledge-sharing, contributing to the growth and advancement of Canada’s ICT industry while promoting employment opportunities for professionals in the field.
